Director & Screenwriter
BIO
I am a Belgian-Uruguayan director and screenwriter. I was born into an artistic household — my father was a visual artist and my mother is a filmmaker — and grew up on sets and in editing rooms, developing an early instinct for how action verbs drive behavior. I often joke that I was “raised in the Stanislavski system,” and it’s partly true: my mother was studying film when I was a child, and she would often speak to us like an acting coach — but about real life.
I have written and directed several short films, including How Do I Classify You? and Spanish Level 1 — in which I also played the leading role — both award-winning films with international distribution.
I trained in acting and directing actors from a young age, and later studied filmmaking at IAD and INRACI. Early in my career, I worked on various audiovisual projects in Uruguay and Belgium, in roles across production, action coordination, and editing. I’m drawn to stories where comedy and drama coexist, where characters reveal their humanity through their dreams and contradictions. My process relies heavily on actors: the script is a map, but truth begins in the casting room and grows through collaborative work on set. I am currently developing a feature film project in the realm of autofiction that continues this exploration.
